Speaking of weddings, I've loved playing the wedding coordinator in my friends' and my sisters' weddings. I enjoy going into the littlest details and love the feeling of knowing that, to everyone else's eyes, things are running smoothly.
But the thought of doing the same for my own wedding DOES NOT appeal to me.
When I start to think of all the little details that have to be taken cared of, all the tasks that have to be done, not to mention all the weight that i have to lose to look great in a wedding dress... ugh! I suddenly feel tired.
Can't it just be something which is easy to get over and done with? I still want a church wedding, yes. But just a small one. Just you, me, the priest, your family and my family.
I don't want to have a production event to worry about on what will be one of the most important days of my life. I would rather have the peace and quiet to solemnly reflect on the promise that I will be making on that day. And I promise that all the effort that I would have spent in preparing for the wedding will instead be spent in making the relationship work. It is what matters after all, right? The marriage, not the wedding?
Anyway, there's still months to go. I can forget about it for now. And then I'll just panic when there's only three months left in the calendar.
In the meantime, can you grant me one wish? Let me sleep on this and wake me up when we're already married?

maybe this time, it is your sisters' and friends' turn to help you out with the preparations. as the bride-to-be, you don't have to be frazzled, you should be blooming!
